The Sounders struck late in the first half, taking the crowd out of the game right before halftime. They added to that in the 49th minute when Minnesota's Brent Kallman scored and own goal, silencing the stadium just after the second half started.

In the 82nd minute Emanuel Reynoso scored on a penalty kick after Joseph Rosales drew a penalty in the penalty area.

The stadium came alive for the final minutes of the game but it was too late. Despite several flurries, Minnesota United could not score again and the final score was 2-1 with Seattle coming away with the win.
