What/who got you into dance? Why do you stay?

My mom dances, teaches, and coached. I stay because I love it, it is fun, and I have made so many friends. I can also show school spirit.

What is your favorite dance skill to perform, why?

All Turns, facial expressions, & a saut de chat.

What is your favorite memory of the 2018-19 season?

I made Maple Grove Varsity Teams as an eighth grader, as well as taking both jazz & kick to state.

What is the most difficult challenge you have had to overcome in dance?
How did you get through and what did you learn from it?

The most difficult challenge I have had to overcome is the fear of competing at state for the first time. Being in middle school I didn’t want to mess it up for the older girls. I practiced and learn that I can push myself to do anything.

What is the best piece of advice you ever received?

Keep trying, you can do whatever you set your mind to. Don’t take no for an answer. Some people will tell you, you cannot do it, just prove them wrong. My mom gave it to me, but with all the support of my family, dance teachers and coaches, I knew I would prevail.
